LOS ANGELES – Clayton Kershaw has joined an exclusive club.

The longtime Los Angeles Dodgers ace is the 20th pitcher in baseball history to strike out 3,000 batters.

Kershaw, a 37-year-old lefty, reached the milestone when he struck out Vinny Capra of the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday, July 2 at Dodger Stadium.

A 10-time All-Star and three-time Cy Young winner, Kershaw entered the game with 2,997 strikeouts. Kershaw didn’t register a strikeout in the first two innings, but got Miguel Vargas swinging for the first out in the third. But Kershaw struggled through those first three innings, giving up four runs including Austin Slater’s two-run homer in the third.

He didn’t strike anybody out in the fourth inning either, heading to the fifth at 80 pitches, adding drama to what was expected to be a coronation.

Kershaw got Lenyn Sosa for strikeout No. 2,999 to end the fifth, but was then at 92 pitches. Manager Dave Roberts sent Kershaw back out for the sixth. With two outs – after third baseman Max Muncy was injured applying a tag at third base – Kershaw struck out Vinny Capra looking for the magical No. 3,000.

He becomes the fourth left-handed pitcher to join the 3,000 strikeout club, joining Steve Carlton, Randy Johnson and CC Sabathia. Kershaw is only the second player to accomplish the feat all with one club, following in the footsteps of Walter Johnson and Bob Gibson.

Kershaw gave up four runs in six innings, picking up No. 3000 on his 100th pitch of the night. He was on the hook for the loss until the Dodgers rallied to win on Freddie Freeman’s walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth.

On May 25, 2008, Kershaw struck out his first batter as a 20-year-old rookie making his major-league  debut with the Dodgers. The strikeouts began to pile up as his 18-year career has unfolded.

He led the National League in strikeouts three times – 2011, 2013 and 2015 – and he recorded a career-high 301 in 2015.

Nolan Ryan holds the all-time record with 5,714 strikeouts.

Before Kershaw’s history-making start, Roberts said the club icon had this milestone in mind when he decided to come back for an 18th season.

“He loves competing,’’ Roberts said. “Certainly wants to see it all the way through October and be a viable integral part in this season. … I think that to be able to come back and essentially go out on his own terms is important and not many people get that opportunity.’’

Said Roberts: ‘It’s the last box for Clayton to check in his tremendous career.”

Clayton Kershaw’s wife, family celebrate 3,000th strikeout

Dodgers game paused to honor Clayton Kershaw hitting 3,000 strikeouts

There will be no penalty – or complaint – for this delay of game. The Dodgers paused the action a few minutes after Kershaw recorded strikeout No. 3,000. After joining his teammates in the dugout, Kershaw came back onto the field and acknowledged the cheering fans.

He also pointed to his family, as the video boards congratulated Kershaw on ‘3,000 STRIKEOUTS.’

Kershaw gets No. 2,999 in the fifth

Kershaw got Lenyn Sosa swinging to end a scoreless fifth inning for strikeout No. 2,999, but is at 92 pitches through five innings. Will Dave Roberts send him back out to start the sixth?

White Sox not cooperating for Kershaw

The chances of Kershaw notching his 3,000th strikeout tonight are dimming. He needs only two, but he’s already thrown 80 pitches through four innings and the White Sox are not cooperating.

In the fourth, he got two a two-strike count for the 12th time of the night, but the White Sox refused to whiff. They also failed to get a hit or run – but maintained a 4-2 lead over the Dodgers.

Kershaw notches strikeout No. 2,998

Never mind Kershaw that gave up a two-run homer to Austin Slater to put the White Sox up 3-2. The Dodgers crowd roared when Kershaw struck out the next batter, Michael Vargas for No. 2,998.

Kershaw gave up a total of three runs and four hits before getting out of the inning. The game heads to the bottom of the third with the White Sox leading 4-2 and Kershaw needing two more, already at 63 pitches through three.

This is beginning to feel like one of Kershaw’s postseason debacles.

Kershaw settles down in second: Still no strikeouts

After struggling in the first first inning, Kershaw retired the White Sox players in order in the second inning – but none on strikeouts. Kershaw got Vinny Capra to ground out to short to end the frame.

Kershaw got out of the inning with 10 pitches, increasing his total to 39 through two innings.

Clayton Kershaw off to rocky start and remains at 2,997

Clayton Kershaw labored through a first inning that ended without a strikeout and with him wiping his brow in relief.

He faced six White Sox batters and gave up a run on three hits. Dodgers left fielder Michael Conforto contained the damage when he made a leaping catch at the wall for the third out. Kershaw threw 29 pitches in the first inning, 19 for strikes.

Catcher Will Smith hit a home run in the bottom of the first to tie the game at one.

Is Clayton Kershaw the greatest Dodgers pitcher ever?

Before the game, Roberts was asked if Kershaw is the greatest pitcher in Dodgers history. In other words: is Kershaw better than Dodgers pitching legends Sandy Koufax and Don Drysdale?

“That’s a tough one,’ Roberts said, indicating he had not compared the three pitchers’ accomplishments. But then he referenced Kershaw’s 18-year career.

“It’s hard to not say Clayton is the greatest Dodger (pitcher) of all time, as far as you’re talking about body of work. … Yeah, he’s a unicorn.’

Clayton Kershaw’s first strikeout victim remembers debut

The Cardinals didn’t have any tape of the 20-year-old kid who was going to make his major-league debut on May 25, 2008. No one had any scouting reports. No one faced him in the minors. So, they began asking each other if anyone knew anything about the Dodgers’ prized prospect.

Skip Schumaker was leading off for the Cardinals and stepped to the plate with a game plan.

“I figured I was going to ambush him and welcome him to the big leagues,’ Schumaker told USA TODAY Sports. “The first pitch was an elevated fastball. It was harder and faster than I thought, and I swung and missed. Then he threw a curveball. It was something different. It was like nothing I had ever seen before.

“And then, well, I struck out.’

Schumaker finished his career 0-for-7 against Kershaw with six strikeouts – and grounded into a double play.

“Clayton Kershaw,’ Schumaker says, “is the most dominant pitcher I’ve ever played against in my career. I’ve never seen anybody like him.”

– Bob Nightengale

Liverpool soccer player, Diogo Jota, 28, and his brother died in a car crash in northwestern Spain, according to the Portuguese Football Federation.

The federation confirmed Jota’s death on Thursday, after the regional fire department of Castile and Leon, stated on its website that a car crashed early on Thursday, shortly after midnight.

Two men, aged 28 and 26, were found dead in the car, which burst into flames near Zamora, the capital of the Zamora province, which is in the Castile and León region.

‘We have lost two champions. Their deaths represent irreparable losses for Portuguese football, and we will do everything we can to honour their legacy every day,’ the Portuguese Football Federation said in a statement.

Spanish police told Reuters they could not yet officially confirm the names of the deceased, but everything pointed to it being Jota and his brother. The Lamborghini they were travelling in veered off the road, the spokesperson said.

The bodies have been taken to a forensics unit in Zamora, where autopsies will be performed, they said.

Who was Diogo Jota?

Jota, who got married in June, helped Liverpool win the Premier League last season and also won the FA Cup and League Cup with the Merseyside outfit.

‘He just won the Prem, Nations League, and got married all within a month,’ wrote one user on Instagram. ‘And his life has been cut short. RIP’

Jota arrived at Anfield, Liverpool’s football [soccer] club, from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2020 and scored 65 goals in 182 appearances for the club in all competitions.

He also made 49 appearances for Portugal, twice winning the UEFA Nations League.

The last day of trading for the first half of 2025 ended with a bang. The S&P 500 ($SPX) and Nasdaq Composite ($COMPQ) closed at record highs — an impressive finish, given the year has seen significant swings.

We saw signs of investors rotating into technology stocks last week when the Nasdaq 100 ($NDX) hit a record high. Looking at the one-week timeframe in the US Indexes tab in the Equities panel in the StockCharts Market Summary page, the $NDX has seen the largest percentage gain (+3.76%) and is trading 9.94% above its 200-day simple moving average (SMA). The Nasdaq Composite is a close second, with the same percentage gain and trading 8.92% above its 200-day SMA.

FIGURE 1. EQUITIES PANEL OF THE MARKET SUMMARY PAGE. Here, you see a snapshot of the one-week performance of the major US indexes and how far they are from key moving averages. Image source: StockCharts.com. For educational purposes.

Is the Technology Rally Stable?

With technology stocks taking the lead again, it’s worth checking to see if market breadth supports the move.

  • Bullish Percent Index. The %Bullish Percent Indexes panel shows the Nasdaq 100 at 74%, which is in favor of the bullish move in technology stocks.
  • New Highs vs. New Lows. On Monday, approximately 10% of stocks in the Nasdaq 100 hit all-time highs, while 0% of stocks hit a 52-week low. The semiconductor industry is the top-performing bellwether industry.

Armed with this data, let’s break down the Technology sector.  Looking at the MarketCarpets format, we can see that software and semiconductors occupy a significant portion of the sector. The largest cap-weighted stocks are all in the green — Microsoft Corp. (MSFT), NVIDIA Corp. (NVDA), Broadcom, Inc. (AVGO), Taiwan Semiconductor Mfg. (TSM), and Oracle Corp. (ORCL).

FIGURE 2. MARKETCARPET OF THE ONE-WEEK PERFORMANCE OF THE TECHNOLOGY SECTOR. Mega-cap stocks such as MSFT, NVDA, AVGO, TSM, and ORCL were strong performers. Image source: StockCharts.com. For educational purposes.

Three semiconductor stocks — NVDA, AVGO, and TSM — make up most of the move in the entire sector, which makes it worth looking at a chart of the semiconductor stocks.

Semis Stay Strong

The six-month daily chart of the VanEck Vectors Semiconductor ETF (SMH) below shows a clear uptrend, with the 21-day exponential moving average (EMA) sloping up and the 50-day SMA about to cross above its 200-day counterpart.

FIGURE 3. SIX-MONTH DAILY CHART OF THE VANECK VECTORS SEMICONDUCTOR ETF (SMH). The ETF has been in a steady uptrend and is close to its all-time high. The RSI is above 70, and the PPO histogram is hovering above zero. Both support the bullish move in SMH, but it’s worth keeping an eye on momentum. Chart source: StockCharts.com. For educational purposes.

The relative strength index (RSI) is above 70 while the percentage price oscillator (PPO) histogram is just above zero. Despite Monday’s relatively flat day, all the above data support a bullish trend. A slowing momentum would be the first alarm bell for a pullback, with the first support being the 21-day EMA. That would be an opportune time to monitor the industry and, if you’ve considered adding either individual semiconductor stocks or ETFs to your portfolio, it’s worth monitoring the price action. Price could either reverse after hitting a key support level or continue falling.

As we head into the second half of 2025, the performance of semiconductors and technology stocks will dictate the direction of the market.

S&P 500 earnings are in for 2025 Q1, and here is our valuation analysis.

The following chart shows the normal value range of the S&P 500 Index, indicating where the S&P 500 would have to be in order to have an overvalued P/E of 20 (red line), a fairly valued P/E of 15 (blue line), or an undervalued P/E of 10 (green line). Annotations on the right side of the chart show where the range is projected to be, based upon earnings estimates through 2026 Q1.

Historically, price has usually remained below the top of the normal value range (red line); however, since about 1998, it has not been uncommon for price to exceed normal overvalue levels, sometimes by a lot. The market has been mostly overvalued since 1992, and it has not been undervalued since 1984. We could say that this is the “new normal,” except that it isn’t normal by GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) standards.

We use GAAP earnings as the basis for our analysis. The table below shows earnings projections through March 2026. Keep in mind that the P/E estimates are calculated based upon the S&P 500 close as of June 30, 2025. They will change daily depending on where the market goes from here. It is notable that the P/E remains outside the normal range.

The following table shows where the bands are projected be, based upon earnings estimates through 2026 Q1.

This DecisionPoint chart keeps track of S&P 500 fundamentals, P/E and yield, and it is updated daily — not that you need to watch it that closely, but it is up-to-date when you need it.

CONCLUSION: The market is still very overvalued and the P/E is still well above the normal range. Earnings have ticked up and are projected to trend higher for the next four quarters. High valuation applies negative pressure on the market, but other more positive factors can keep the market in overvalued territory.

Asset Portfolio Overview

International Lithium Corp. (TSXV: ILC) (OTCQB: ILHMF) (FSE: IAH) (the ‘Company’ or ‘ILC’) is pleased to announce that it has completed the sale of all its interest in the Avalonia Project in Ireland and in Blackstairs Lithium Ltd, the company that owns that project.

As announced on September 17, 2024, the Company’s interest in the Avalonia Project was sold then to GFL International Co., Limited (‘GFL’), a subsidiary of Ganfeng Lithium Group Co., Ltd. (‘Ganfeng’), for a consideration of CAD$ 2.2 million plus a 2% Net Smelter Royalty. The Company reports that it has now sold its shareholding in Blackstairs Lithium to GFL for an additional CAD$ 0.3 million. The final CAD$ 1.0 million of the consideration for the CAD$ 2.2 million Avalonia Project is payable by GFL in October 2025.

John Wisbey, Chairman and CEO of ILC, commented:

‘We are pleased to have completed the sale of our interest in the Avalonia Project to GFL who was our partner in Ireland. This divestment allows us to focus on our wholly owned or majority-owned projects in Canada and on progressing identified opportunities in Southern Africa. We have a strong 11-year relationship with Ganfeng, and we will welcome working with Ganfeng again on future projects when there is a mutual interest in doing so.’

About International Lithium Corp.

International Lithium Corp. has exploration activities in Ontario, Canada, with intentions to expand into Southern Africa. It has projects at various stages, ranging from Preliminary Economic Assessment at Raleigh Lake to Pre-Drilling at Wolf Ridge. The primary target metals in Canada are lithium, rubidium and copper. There are three projects (two in Ontario and now one in Ireland) in which ILC has sold its share but where we stand to receive future payments from either a resource milestone being achieved or from a Net Smelter Royalty.

While the world’s politicians are currently divided on the future of the energy market’s historic dependence on oil and gas and on ‘Net Zero’, there seems to be a clear and unstoppable momentum towards electric vehicles, solar power and electric battery storage, all of which contribute to rising demand for lithium. Rubidium is increasingly seen as a valuable critical metal that is strategic for high-precision clocks and for space technology. Copper has many historical uses, but demand is projected to be sharply higher as more data centres are required for AI. We have seen the clear and increasingly urgent wish by the USA, Canada, and other major economies to safeguard their supplies of critical metals and to become more self-sufficient. Our Canadian projects, which contain lithium, rubidium and copper, are strategic in that respect.

Our key mission for the next decade is to generate revenue for our shareholders from lithium and other battery metals, as well as rare metals, while also contributing to the creation of a greener, cleaner planet and less polluted cities.

This includes optimizing the value of our existing projects in Canada as well as finding, exploring and developing projects that have the potential to become world-class deposits. We have separately announced that we regard Southern Africa as a key strategic target market for ILC and that we have applied for and hope to receive EPOs in Zimbabwe. We hope to make further announcements on the portfolio developments over the next few weeks and months.

The Company’s interests in various projects now consist of the following, and in addition, the Company continues to seek other opportunities:

The Company’s primary strategic focus at this point is on the Raleigh Lake Project, comprising lithium and rubidium, and the Firesteel copper project in Canada, as well as obtaining EPOs and mineral claims in Zimbabwe.

The Raleigh Lake Project now encompasses 32,900 hectares (329 square kilometres) of mineral claims in Ontario and represents ILC’s most significant project in Canada. To date, drilling has occurred on less than 1,000 hectares of our claims. A Preliminary Economic Assessment was published for ILC’s lithium at Raleigh Lake in December 2023, with a detailed economic analysis of ILC’s separate rubidium resource still pending. Raleigh Lake is 100% owned by ILC, free from any encumbrances and royalties. The Raleigh Lake Project boasts excellent access to roads, rail, and utilities.

A continuing goal has been to remain a well-funded company to turn our aspirations into reality. Following the disposal of the Mariana project in Argentina in 2021, the Mavis Lake project in Canada in 2022, and now the Avalonia project, ILC continues to achieve sufficient inward cash flow to be able to make progress with its exploration projects.

With the increasing demand for high-tech rechargeable batteries used in electric vehicles, electrical storage, and portable electronics, lithium has been designated ‘the new oil’ and is a key part of a green energy, sustainable economy. By positioning itself with projects that have significant resource potential and solid strategic partners, ILC aims to be one of the preferred lithium and rare metals resource developers for investors and to continue building value for its shareholders for the rest of the 2020s, the decade of battery metals.

TSX Venture Exchange: BSK
Frankfurt Stock Exchange: MAL2
OTCQB Venture Market (OTC): BKUCF

Blue Sky Uranium Corp. (TSXV: BSK) (FSE: MAL2) (OTC: BKUCF) (‘Blue Sky’ or the ‘Company’) is pleased to announce that it has obtained an additional substantial historic subsurface dataset for its Corcovo Uranium Project an ‘in situ’ recovery (‘ ISR ‘) high potential target, located in the Western Malargüe Mining District, Mendoza Province Argentina . This dataset was originally generated by operators in the oil & gas (‘ O&G ‘) with concession holdings in the area. The new data package includes complete information from 449 historical O&G wells ranging from more than 500 metres up to 750 metres in depth within the Corcovo concession area, featuring geophysical logging data such as gamma-ray, spontaneous potential (SP), and other parameters, compiled in the O&G industry standard format for well log data (Log ASCII Standard or ‘ LAS ‘ format). In addition, the Company received 34 2D seismic lines, covering the entire Corcovo project area ( Figure 1 ).

Nikolaos Cacos , President & CEO of the Company stated, ‘This new data package is a major milestone for the Corcovo Project. Blue Sky now have a massive amount of information from over 500 drill holes that will allow us to rapidly enhance our geological model, improve confidence in the interpreted uranium-bearing horizons, and potentially accelerate future targeting for ISR-style uranium mineralization.’

Blue Sky had previously acquired data from 89 O&G wells from which the team identified radiometric anomalies at four different stacked horizons and outlined a potential roll-front morphology along approximately 7km (see News Release dated June 4, 2025 ). The newly acquired information is currently being integrated into Blue Sky’s geophysical and geological interpretation to refine the exploration targets. The Company continues to work to identify and access additional data, including 3D seismic surveys known to have been previously performed in the project area.

The Corcovo Project covers 20,000 hectares at the northeastern margin of the O&G producing Neuquén Basin. The geological potential of the region for uranium ISR deposits was initially defined by CNEA, the state-owned nuclear company, as reported in the International Atomic Energy Agency and Nuclear Energy Agency document titled: ‘ Uranium 2024: Resources, Production and Demand ‘. Blue Sky optioned the Corcovo project in 2024 as part of a strategic initiative to broaden the Company’s medium to long-term prospects for discovery of additional uranium mineral resources. The project benefits from flat topography, road access, and year-round accessibility, supporting cost-effective exploration and potential future ISR development.

Group Eleven Resources Corp. (TSXV: ZNG) (OTCQB: GRLVF) (FSE: 3GE) (‘Group Eleven’ or the ‘Company’) is pleased to announce the latest step-out drill results from the Zn-Pb-Ag horizon at its Ballywire discovery (‘Ballywire’) at the 100%-owned PG West Project (‘PG West’), Republic of Ireland. Drilling at Ballywire’s deeper, Cu-Ag target is in progress (to be reported in due course).

Highlights:

  • 25-3552-35 (a 50m step-out to the NE from previous drilling, along the Zn-Pb-Ag horizon) intersected:
    • 53.9m of 7.9% Zn+Pb (4.7% Zn and 3.2% Pb), 99 g/t Ag and 0.20% Cu, including
    • 39.7m of 9.5% Zn+Pb (5.6% Zn and 3.9% Pb), 131 g/t Ag and 0.27% Cu, including
    • 18.3m of 16.1% Zn+Pb (8.9% Zn and 7.2% Pb), 233 g/t Ag and 0.42% Cu, including
    • 5.6m of 16.6% Zn+Pb (8.0% Zn and 8.5% Pb), 370 g/t Ag and 0.86% Cu
    • True thickness is estimated to be 90-100% of the intervals noted above and below
  • Three Cu-Ag enriched zones were also intersected below the above intercept in the same hole:
    • 5.5m of 3.2% Zn+Pb (0.9% Zn and 2.2% Pb), 209 g/t Ag and 0.49% Cu, including
      • 0.9m of 2.1% Zn+Pb (1.5% Zn and 0.6% Pb), 831 g/t Ag and 2.46% Cu and
    • 0.9m of 195 g/t Ag and 0.21% Cu and
    • 3.5m of 7.1% Zn+Pb (3.5% Zn and 3.6% Pb), 134 g/t Ag and 0.34% Cu, including
      • 0.9m of 3.5% Zn+Pb (0.5% Zn and 3.0% Pb), 224 g/t Ag and 0.63% Cu
  • These results extend the strike length of the immediate Ballywire discovery corridor from 1,250m to 1,300m, while demonstrating much thicker mineralization than previously encountered
  • This corridor is hosted within a larger 2.6km long trend of robust mineralization pierced by drilling at Ballywire to date, along a prospective trend of over 6km (defined by four regional gravity-high anomalies, only one of which has been systematically drill tested to date)
  • Today’s elevated Cu-Ag values further substantiate the Company’s ‘deeper Cu-Ag’ target (100-200m below the Zn-Pb-Ag horizon), currently being drill tested (second hole in progress)
  • Three rigs are turning at Ballywire with over 4,000m of drilling completed year-to-date; Group Eleven aims to complete 8,000-10,000m in 2025 (fully funded)

‘Today’s hole represents our thickest intercept yet at the Ballywire discovery, surpassing our 29.6 metres of 10.6% Zn+Pb, 78 g/t Ag and 0.15% Cu announced in June 2024,’ stated Bart Jaworski, CEO. ‘Not only does this intercept extend strike and show exceptional mineralized thickness but also demonstrates zones of strong copper-silver values. This adds to growing evidence suggesting a deeper Cu-Ag horizon one to two hundred metres below the main Ballywire discovery horizon. This deeper target is currently being drilled, with one hole finished and a second started. We look forward to releasing these results as soon as assays are available. With three rigs turning each on excellent targets at Ballywire and a recently announced strengthened cash position of C$4.3 million, Group Eleven is poised to keep generating shareholder value through the drill bit for the foreseeable future.’

Ballywire Drill Update

The Ballywire prospect at the Company’s 100%-owned PG West Project in Republic of Ireland, represents the most significant mineral discovery in Ireland in over a decade. First announced in Sept-2022, the discovery has 53 holes drilled and reported by Group Eleven to date, including the most recent hole (25-3552-35) reported today (see Exhibits 1 to 3).

Drilling at Ballywire continues with three rigs. Currently, eight (8) new holes are completed (and in the process of being logged, sampled and assayed). Six of these holes are shown in Exhibit 1, with two other holes near gravity-high anomaly ‘D’ (located 1.3km to the ENE). Recently strengthened financial position provides Group Eleven flexibility to either ramp-up drilling in 2025 and/or extend its runway for drilling well into 2026.

Assays from 25-3552-35 are summarized below (see Exhibit 3). Strong mineralization starts to occur within the Waulsortian Limestone at 120.6m downhole and continues intermittently until 187.9m, at which point, mineralization becomes more consistent through to near the base of the Waulsortian Limestone at 242.9m. Below the Waulsortian Limestone, several horizons of elevated copper-silver occur. Mineralization consists predominantly of sphalerite, galena and pyrite, with the copper-silver bearing zones also containing chalcopyrite and suspected tennantite-tetrahedrite.
